nadime:
We’ve had a Hinvat Deathbringer pop on us during a TZ (script) kill… but I don’t remember those guys AE rampaging. Did they change those guys?
Furor:
Yes.The entire event is so severly gimped now from its first two incarnations that I can hardly call it the same thing. I’m not sure what beta-board crybaby is responsible for this, but I know it was one or a group of them (probably some gimp in KTF that has Jahar’s ear and cock).
This is a perfect example of WHY some developers and team members should not be allowed to play the high end game. They lose focus on the game as a whole and instead focus on their actual problems in game, causing retarded gimpings to events and encounters. This also plays in to what Kreugen wrote in another post. The meaning behind victories is lost in the current incarnation of Everquest. Nothing that is first perceived as overly difficult remains overly difficult for long. In the old days when something was first perceived as overly difficult, the mob became less difficult over time not because of changes made to the mob and the encounter by disgruntled developers who’s guilds could not defeat the original encounter RIGHT FUCKING AWAY but because the natural progression of skill, experience, and adaption kicked in.
These days its: Oh damn, RZ is too hard. My XXXX Guild won’t be in Plane of XXXXX before the next expansion because we lack the focus and dedication of time of XXXXXX guild. Here, let me just remove all the roamers from the first part of the encounter, gimp the combat ability of the first and second RZ significantly, and drastically reduce the number of adds in the event so that my friends can reap the benefits they obviously earned.
I’m not bitter… Like I said, WoW is coming out and I do not believe it will disappoint Everquest fans/players.
Lin:
Oh get off it Furor. For everything that might have been harder for the first people there are also things that are easier. Hell the very fact that the first people killing something had little to no competition and better equipment to do it with makes you sound like a damn whiner. The first guilds in tactics had the luxury of trying RZ 4 times in 2 weeks, the later guilds into tactics might get to see RZ 4 times in 6 months. Cry me a fucking river he got tuned to be more in line with the difficulty of the bosses before and after him.The competition in sub top guilds means everyone has significantly worse equipment because they simply don’t have the mobs up for them to get them from, not to mention first guilds get gifted so much shit. How many people entering VT except the first few have anything like the number of ancient spells FoH no doubt has even if they spend the same time farming it because the drops got nerfed? How many times have drop rates of the best gear gone up since you guys stopped farming something? How many times have the best items been ADDED to loot tables instead of removed after you got done with it and the other guilds were getting there?
When/if we get to Fennin Ro we won’t have the luxury of being able to screw over the encounter over and over because we couldn’t be bothered to look our logs to see how the DPS changes, we’ll have 12 other fucking guilds to compete with and we’ll be lucky to see him 2 or 3 times in a year. It has nothing to do with dedication or obviously skill but being able to fit your lifestyle into the dumb fuck mob respawn schedule of the game and get with a bunch of people that also can.
Furor:
I am sorry that your biggest gripe had aboslutely NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING I POSTED. I am sorry you are too much of a slacker to put up a halfway decent fight for a spawn.See, gimps like you have it easy but always find a way to complain. No, you won’t be parsing the DPS of Fennin Ro because my guild had the misery of putting up with that for a few weeks. What you’ll do is go to some guild’s web site and read up on whatever spoiler information you can minesweep and use it to your own advantage.
You’re a victim of your own inefficiency.
How many times have the best items been added after we left a spawn? Luckily for ingrates like you the best items are added before you GET THERE - because of us. You don’t put up with bugged drop tables or items dropping totally out of line with the PITA of an encounter. You have the luxury of riding in on the coattails of the trailblazers. You do not have the right to make a fuckign squeak - your position in the food chain doesn’t allow it.
The price you pay? Having to compete with other equally lazy and non-motivated guilds in your playgroup for loot-pinata style mobs that have had all tactics and difficulties involved, layed out for them in a nice and easy to follow write-up on the Safehouse.
Get bent.
