RaidBars, We Hardly Knew Ye

Ron:

Not sure if you read Azile’s take on what she feels the game needs, but I have to add a thing I feel is wrong with the game, though it’s not a bug.

A Thin Line Between Overpowered And Useless

March 5, 2001 lumthemad.net

Lum the Mad:

The Verant Spin Patrol was out on the Whineplay hustings, trying to make sense of the delirium, with Abashi playing bad cop and Absor playing, um, other bad cop. First, from Abashi, comes this explanation:

What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate

March 11, 2008 risen-guild.com

Failure:

To start off, I am making this post to hopefully clear up a number of misconceptions spreading around. That being said, I am fully aware that the same people who are so hopelessly lost now will stay lost, due to their inability to understand simple English.

On Community, Or, The Equality Of Gameplay Automation

April 28, 1999 lumthemad

Sir Fragmor:

Community.Community would assume people together being social. This was one of UOs big selling points way back when and you can still hear them chanting it today. “It hurts the community”, “It would’nt be good for the online gaming community” Well its funny that they have these concerns about the “community” cause THEY themselves are setting forth precendents that will hurt the “Community” much more than any macro-miner or PK. A commune of people suggests interaction between members of players. Be that team work in fighting monsters, defeating PKs, questing, or treasure hunting. The point is these are all things that help Build, Make, and perpetuate the “community” because they are social in nature, as is a “community”.

14 Days Went To The World (Of Warcraft)

May 9, 2003 fohguild.org

Furor:

You have 14 Days. If after that time the Plane is not properly tuned, I am deleting my characters, and cancelling all of my accounts. The rest of my guild will follow suit, as will several other guilds and people that play Everquest.

I Know This Hurts You, Mr Afrasiabi

July 22, 2002 fohguild.org

Furor:

Some people would call me an avid Everquest player, perhaps to the point of fanaticism. If I were to describe myself to another person, however, my life with Everquest would more than likely be a tale left untold. It’s as if I lead a secret life: During the day I work, on weekends I go out with my friends and see my family, but on weekdays, once I’m home from work, I play Everquest. Rabidly.

14 Days Somehow Turned Into 2 Months

April 17, 2006 dtguilds.com/worldofwarcraft.com

Xi:

You have 14 Days. If after that time AQ is not properly tuned, I am deleting my characters, and cancelling all of my accounts. The rest of my guild will follow suit, as will several other guilds and people that play WoW.To be brief, I did not work my ass off, jumping through your idiotic hoops with my friends and guildmates, so I could go to a zone where there is zero fucking playtesting. That’s right not one fucking time did you incompetent fucks even try C’thun. EVEN if we ignore the bullshit that is Viscidus, FUCK YOU GUYS. Seriously, FUCK YOU.

Risen on World of Casualcraft

March 7, 2008 risen-guild.com

Failure:

Ok, so it’s a shitty title, sue me. The idea is there, and everyone knows it’s true. Blizzard no longer cares about the hardcore gamers, be that the raiders or the pvpers. Well, we’re done with it. It wasn’t just one thing really. While we were all excited to get some tier6 for our freshly 70 alts from this new badge gear, there’s a part of you that just has to feel some pain when you look back at all the time you spent farming instances…for nothing.

Raid Guilds As Sacrificial Chocobos

March 31, 2003 fohguild.org

Bazael:

Honestly - theres no reason for plane of time to be finished with the release of the expansion. No one had any right to be in plane of time for the first 2 months that POP was out. If its tuned right, your guild should need as much elemental loot as possible to even survive 3 steps into that zone. Plane of time should be an assraper of a zone. It SHOULD take you 2 months to farm eles and gear up for POT, not to mention all the flagging etc.
