10 Things To Do Before Quitting WoW (Actually, 7)

May 16th, 2008 elitistjerks.com

DeeNogger:

1) Be an Asshole:

The most important, and the by far the easiest, activity to check off your list before logging out that last time is to be a complete and uncensored asshole. It doesnt take much looking to notice that interaction between members of the WoW community has more in common with the style and educate of retarded chimpanzees than actual human beings. Its a bar fight out there, ladies and gentlemen, and if you dont take the opportunity to step on the neck of one of your pears, you’re really not putting much effort into making the most of this game.

Badgers? We Don’t Need No Steenkin’ Badgers!

June 8, 2008 somethingawful.net

Corbet:

This is what happens when bleeding edge raiders get bored farming the same content for 8+ months. I doubt anyone at Blizzard really cares - you can’t expect Blizzard to release content that fast to keep up.

Saepiroth:

Honestly, you can lay a portion of the blame for the current culling of raid guilds on the way they decided to develop the badge and arena system. At it’s most basic, the trouble is that they gave access to raid-quality gear without raid-quality effort.

heres a graff

September 16, 2005 forums.worldofwarcraft.com

Hammadore:

RARE Blackwing Basin Stratigese

u need 2 open it up with 2 rogues. u put the rogues up wehere the mobs r but not 2 close, and make sure that they r stealthed too, or the mobs will attack them

when u put the rogues there u look at the mobs. r there 2 or 5 of them? heres a graff

1 2 3 4 5
rogue rogue

so the rogue left side sapps the #1 or #2 mobs maybe both if hes lucky and the right mob sapps the #4 or #5 mobhs and then u got 1 mob left and its easier 2 fite it that way cuz u can kill 1 at a time and they cant gang up on u.
example: if u fight 2 mobs its hard. but if u fight 1 mob its easy. so u fight 1 at a time until they died.

Ahn’Qiraj Will Be Defeated In One Month

January 28, 2006 nytimes.com

Author: Seth Schiesel

Jeff Kaplan knows what it’s like to try to please all of the people all of the time. Don’t envy him.

As a lead game designer at Blizzard Entertainment for World of Warcraft, the ridiculously successful online PC game that now has more than 5.5 million subscribers, Mr. Kaplan, 33, is a combination of long-term planner, whipping boy, police chief and deity for a rabid global player-base that is about as large as the populations of the cities of Chicago, Houston and Detroit combined. Earlier massively multiplayer online games like EverQuest, which topped out at around a half-million users, appealed almost entirely to hard-core young male players. World of Warcraft, however, has shattered the expectations of just about everyone in the game industry because it also appeals to a broader, more casual audience. And one of the biggest reasons for that appeal is that much of the time, World of Warcraft is a relatively easy game.

Itemize This, Itemize That

June 15, 2006 elitistjerks.net (expanded from original post on worldofwarcraft.com)

Hyzenthlei:

I’ve been toying with the idea of how WoW items are balanced on creation for the last few weeks. Here is something I’ve come up with that seems to consistently represent things pretty well, and after posting it up for some guildies I decided to put it here as well.

Death Threats

January 14, 2006 worldofwarcraft.com

Kenco:

It’s often said that we will never be able to work out the way threat and hate lists and mobs’ AI works, because it’s too complicated and unknowable, that we’ll only ever have crude approximations and guesses. I’ve conducted some decent, rigorous tests, and i have what i believe is a good list of hate values and explanations of gaining and losing aggro and the behaviour of taunt. I am also able to debunk a few myths about how threat works.

What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate

March 11, 2008 risen-guild.com

Failure:

To start off, I am making this post to hopefully clear up a number of misconceptions spreading around. That being said, I am fully aware that the same people who are so hopelessly lost now will stay lost, due to their inability to understand simple English.

Tranquility Base here - The Hellfish Has Landed

November 16, 2005 conquest.teamgbu.net

Quigon:

There are probably 5 threads on this forum, and many more on the WoW raids and dungeons forums that bring up the question of aggro generation on Broodlord, and various other fights.

The current chart out there for aggro on main tanks is rather missleading, and I had already made this graph for my own guild, so I figured I would post some here as this has always been a great place for warrior type discussions.
